stuff..

Well this weekend Shane and I headed back to Houston to go to my Uncle's private memorial service up at the farm.  It was so hard and heartbreaking, yet wonderful and uplifting all at the same time.  I don't think I have ever felt some many emotions at one time before.  All I know is that I miss him.  I miss him so much.

Well that beautiful car I mentioned in an early post....got rearended yesterday.  Thankfully, it only messed up the tire cover, and didn't do any frame damage or anything.  I am still somewhat sad though that my flawless little car, is no longer so flawless :(  Hopefully I will get it fixed this week.

Well I would bring up a wonderful, heart wrenching and thought provoking topic right now, but it is about time for me to head out from work.  Have a good day friends!  I love you all!

Weekend!

Well I must say that my weekend pretty much extended itself through Monday night.  Normally I do only school during the week, and then wind down on the weekends.  However, I just couldn't resist hanging out with cool people!

On Friday the rents came to visit.  We pretty much just went shopping and out to eat and such.  On Saturday we went to a wedding in marble falls which was soooo beautiful.  Right after they left I headed to Austin to see Linds and friends.  We went to grab dinner at Bennigans and then to sixth street.  After much bar hopping we finally made it back to lindsay's where I stayed for the night.  No, this is not because I was too drunk to drive, but because it was late and  I didn't want to drive for 40 min at 2am.  Shane was in college station, and I missed him terribly, but Linds and the girls and I had SO much fun! I love her :)

Then last night I went to Bennigans again with my awesome roomie Jamie, Blake and Tony and I surely did capitalize on their 2 dollar drink specials!

So it was a really great weekend all in all!  I can't believe tmw is already Wed.  This week is flying!

I miss shane:(

On my mind

This is such a great qoute.  We try to accomplish so much for ourselves and others, but all we really have to do is stop, and LOVE God with everything we have.

"It is not what we do that matters, but what a sovereign God chooses to do through us. God doesn't want our success; He wants us."
--Charles Colson

I will post about my parents visit later this weekend.  Now I must shower and recover from my run.

Hi again

It sure has been a while since my last post and I am regretfully sorry for that.  Please bear with me through this post as I catch the few of you that read this up to speed.  I will begin with the summer, and end with....today!

June:
After searching for a job for many months, I finally got one at ConocoPhillips in Houston.  Of course a job of this nature could not be conveniant and close to home so I had about an hour commute to work everyday.  Yep, that's right.  40 hours a week for about 9 weeks.  No complaints here though!  The job of designing web pages and organizing databases and spreadsheets suited me mentally, physically and financially just fine for the summer.

I also found out that my uncle had stage 4 kidney cancer as well as progressing stages of lung cancer.  The kidney was removed, but as you will see, he never truly recovered.

July:
Work continued.  Didn't do much else that I know of.  My uncle got better and then he got worse.  Now he was having conjestive heart failure which eventually turned in to atrial affibulation, as well as a constanst state of a collapsed lung that kept filling up with fluid.

August:
I finished work the second week of August.   Finally I had a week off, which I spent mostly in and out of the hospital visiting the Unc, and packing up for school.

I got a new car!!  After about a month of searching, and waiting for my order to come in  I finally got rid of my Civic and got a new 2006 Toyota Rav4 Sport - Black!  Based on previous models this sounds silly I know, but u have to see the '06  model!  It's bigger and better and everything that I was wanting!

On the morning of august 26th my Uncle passed.  I prefer to not go into much detail about this situation for the sake of keeping it of purely personal nature with my family.

September: (Now)
School surely has begun.  I had 4 tests in the span of 4 class days, and that sure did wear me out.  I did really  great on them though, and I hope that my success continues!  I go to class and work during the week, and live it up on the weekends!

I am working at Boko's Living room, which is awesome!  I love this job and all it has to offer.  I just wanted a conveniant on campus job to bring in a little extra cash, and this seems to be working out great!

I am so busy these days, and hardly ever home.  But its my last year here, so that is really how i prefer it.

Well I hope that I uncovered most of what went down the past few months.  As you can see summer was nothing but work and unfortuante sadness, with a few trips to the lake in there.  For the first time in like 10 years I didn't get to go on the family vacation.  I was super sad about that, but to make up for it we are making a repeat trip to New York in December! woohoo!

The whole point of me telling you guys about my uncle was to give evidence of what smoking can do to you.  He went to the doctor because his lung was filling up with fluid and 3.5 months later...he was gone.  He was a smoker for most of his life.  I am not seeking pitty or sorrow....just trying to verbalize my sincere hate toward cigarettes.

Have a good day!  My parents are coming in town tommorow, and I can't wait!!
If you actually made it down this far I am impressed! thanks for reading! :)

Sleeping, Shopping, Skirts, Shane......

I truly hope today was a marvelous Monday for everyone.  I had a great day.  Got to sleep in pretty late, and got to go eat and shop with shaneboo.  We went to Bannana Republic and I neglected to find anything I liked, but Shane found 3 sweet shirts.  Then we did a little bit more shopping and returned home around 5ish.  I went to Emerald's after I dropped him off and bought an adorable skirt and tank top.  In fact I'll probably be wearing them tmw..why?...because i can.  lol.  So yea today was great fun.

To be honest I totally have the head crud, and don't feel like posting much else.  Plus my clothes in the washer are ready to move along.

Food suggestion of the day:  Kettle Corn Popcorn
