It sure has been a while since my last post and I am regretfully sorry for that. Please bear with me through this post as I catch the few of you that read this up to speed. I will begin with the summer, and end with....today! June: After searching for a job for many months, I finally got one at ConocoPhillips in Houston. Of course a job of this nature could not be conveniant and close to home so I had about an hour commute to work everyday. Yep, that's right. 40 hours a week for about 9 weeks. No complaints here though! The job of designing web pages and organizing databases and spreadsheets suited me mentally, physically and financially just fine for the summer. I also found out that my uncle had stage 4 kidney cancer as well as progressing stages of lung cancer. The kidney was removed, but as you will see, he never truly recovered. July: Work continued. Didn't do much else that I know of. My uncle got better and then he got worse. Now he was having conjestive heart failure which eventually turned in to atrial affibulation, as well as a constanst state of a collapsed lung that kept filling up with fluid. August: I finished work the second week of August. Finally I had a week off, which I spent mostly in and out of the hospital visiting the Unc, and packing up for school. I got a new car!! After about a month of searching, and waiting for my order to come in I finally got rid of my Civic and got a new 2006 Toyota Rav4 Sport - Black! Based on previous models this sounds silly I know, but u have to see the '06 model! It's bigger and better and everything that I was wanting!
On the morning of august 26th my Uncle passed. I prefer to not go into much detail about this situation for the sake of keeping it of purely personal nature with my family. September: (Now) School surely has begun. I had 4 tests in the span of 4 class days, and that sure did wear me out. I did really great on them though, and I hope that my success continues! I go to class and work during the week, and live it up on the weekends! I am working at Boko's Living room, which is awesome! I love this job and all it has to offer. I just wanted a conveniant on campus job to bring in a little extra cash, and this seems to be working out great! I am so busy these days, and hardly ever home. But its my last year here, so that is really how i prefer it. Well I hope that I uncovered most of what went down the past few months. As you can see summer was nothing but work and unfortuante sadness, with a few trips to the lake in there. For the first time in like 10 years I didn't get to go on the family vacation. I was super sad about that, but to make up for it we are making a repeat trip to New York in December! woohoo! The whole point of me telling you guys about my uncle was to give evidence of what smoking can do to you. He went to the doctor because his lung was filling up with fluid and 3.5 months later...he was gone. He was a smoker for most of his life. I am not seeking pitty or sorrow....just trying to verbalize my sincere hate toward cigarettes. Have a good day! My parents are coming in town tommorow, and I can't wait!! If you actually made it down this far I am impressed! thanks for reading! :) |
